Cache Business Research Center Helps Businesses Succeed
New and existing businesses in the Cache Valley now have a one-stop shop for everything from advice on business plans to finding capital, thanks to the Cache Business Resource Center.
A collaborative effort of the Cache Chamber of Commerce and a host of business and educational partners, the center is changing the face of small business and entrepreneurship in the valley, says Sandy Emile, president and CEO of the chamber.
“It’s very exciting that we have the participation and support of so many key players under one roof,” Emile says. “Anyone with a vision, desire or dream of a business who doesn’t know how to move forward, or maybe someone whose business has gotten stale and needs to go through an expansion or revisioning, can come to the resource center, meet with the counselors and get hooked up with the data, resources and people they need to be successful.”
The center’s various partner entities provide an array of services ranging from software training to business plan development, and much more.
“This is all available for free, and under one roof,” Emile says. “It’s right on the west campus of the technology center, down the street from USU and on our business-industrial corridor, so the location is perfect.”
The center is taking 23,000 square feet of a 60,000-square-foot building, so in addition to classes and seminars, there’s room for a business incubator.
“There had been talk around the state for years about these centers, but it was always one entity trying to make the effort,” Emile says. “Because the chamber has been working in the county and the region on economic development for so many years, we knew if we all assisted in making this happen, not just in Logan and the Cache Valley, but for all of northern Utah, we could create an economic development engine for the entire state."
